What's the purpose of the concrete pump? concrete pumping

The idea of a concrete pump is to get the  ready mixed concrete from the concrete lorry to the exact area that needs to be concreted.

Why would I need a concrete pump?

To reduce man power and labour.

taking the stress out of the ready mixed concrete delivery, freeing up time to work on the concrete and the levels.

if accessibility is an issue for your ready mixed concrete delivery then the concrete pump is the solution.

over buildings, through windows, over walls, down tight alleys, across swimming pools, gardens and the list goes on.

How does a concrete pump work?

2 lorries are parked back to back, the concrete lorry and the pump truck,

the concrete lorry puts the ready mixed concrete directly in the hopper of the concrete pump,

then the concrete pump will pump the concrete through a series of 100mm diameter  steel and rubber pipeline directly where it needs to go.

There are 2 types of concrete pump, a commonly used concrete line pump which is transit, tipper size vehicle to a concrete boom pump to go over obstacles which range in size from a 4 wheel lorry to an 8 wheeled lorry.

There needs to be enough parking space for the vehicles to be parked back to back. 

A tarpaulin or ground covering would be recommended to go under the back of the concrete lorry and pump as this can be a messy operation.

2x bags of cement would be required in order to prime, grout the pump line

A wheel barrow will be needed as once the job is completed the concrete lorry and pump need to empty the concrete from inside the hopper and auger of the truck approximately 2-3 wheel barrows (wash out) 

During a pump job, the pump hoses will need to be removed and washed down to be put back on the truck, so an adequate wash out area will be required.

(an area of a drive, path, somewhere near the concrete lorry adequate to wash the pipes down after use)
